Shana Tova, or L’ Shana Tova, is a Hebrew phrase which loosely translates to “have a good year”.  The “layered letters” stamp set is perfect for those occasions when you want to spell out something unique. Apples and honey are symbols commonly associated with Rosh Hashanah, and are featured on both of my projects.  I love the fruit stand designer series paper, and the apples are just perfect for Rosh Hashanah.

This little jar filled with honey sticks would make a fun hostess gift or table centerpiece.  I made the apples using circle punches, and used the sprinkles punch for the stems.  I created the greeting on the little jar by using a marker to ink part of the “wishing you a fabulous year filled with good cheer” from the “Stitched with Cheer” stamp set; and adding in the word “sweet” from “thoughtful banners”.  We sure do have to get creative sometimes, don’t we?!

Thank you so much for stopping by. I really hope you are enjoying everyone’s projects.  If you have come from Nancy Stollnitz Hoetker’s blog please click the “next blog” button to visit  Yapha Nussbaum Mason

    • You are very welcome, Yapha. I had so much fun doing this hop with our group and I look forward to more in the future. Those punch art apples are so much fun and very helpful when we don’t happen to have apple stamps in the current catalog.

  1. Clever idea to add a tag to the honey sticks! I definitely love the clever idea and will be using this as a table decorations and a “party favor” for the guests. That was clever to combine 2 stamps to get the “sweet year” sentiment. Love the use of the Fruit Stand DSP on the card, it definitely lends itself to Rosh Hashanah! The Layered Letters fit perfectly on the card front, so pretty!

  2. Smart, clever and very sweet. Perfect descriptions for your two projects and you yourself Miss Miriam. You’ve been a wonderful Hop Captain and I’m so happy you got the band back together! Brilliant the way you used the alphabet and sentiment sets to say exactly what you wanted them too. Love the punch art apple too! I spent hours looking for the perfect apple stamp when really all I had to do was reach for a punch! Thanks for that inspiring lesson. Looking forward to the next hop!

  3. Excellent use of the DSP and layered letters. I appreciate you organizing the hop too. Looking forward to Hanukkak hop next. I always think that there’s not so many Jewish people in the world that makes coming together even more special.

  4. Thank you so much for doing this Miriam! Love your card, and the little honey swirlers for the next and previous buttons are adorable!
