I am so excited to be participating in the first ever Global Stamping Friends blog hop! The theme for today’s hop is “Seasonal Catalogue with a Twist!” (I love the international spelling.)
Although I came of age during the 80’s, I’ve always been a 60’s girl at heart. The new Paisleys and Posies stamp set made my psychedelic heart swoon just a little bit. It was one of the first “must haves” on my catalog pre-order. After playing with it a bit I realized that this set is tailor made for the current trend of adult coloring. I had so much fun stamping the images from this set onto half sheets of Stampin’ Up!’s fabulous, thick whisper white cardstock. Voila: instant adult coloring pages that are the perfect size for greeting cards.
Stampin’ Write markers are the perfect tool for coloring in the designs. The thick end of the marker is like a little paintbrush. Using just the tip, with a light touch, you can color in even the tiniest images.
I love that there is no right or wrong way to stamp the cards or color them in. You can let go and be as creative as you want. If you want to really get into the spirit you can play your favorite 60’s music while you stamp and color. I think the Zombies’ “Time of the Season” would be a great choice.
